Old Photos

As a family genealogist, one of the greatest joys to see if old photos of family members, especially photos I have never seen before. My dear sweet cousin, June, sent me these wonderful old pictures that were in her childhood photo album. I will definitely cherish them forever.

This is the cutest picture of my brother, Boyd, and June.
They were both born in 1933 about 3 months apart in age.

Here is Boyd and June in 1947 at age 14 and still "Pals".
Isn't Boyd cute!
Isn't June a little doll! Look at those shoes!!

She is pictured here with our Uncle Albert who is only about 10 years older than June.

This is June and my Dad, Cecil. Daddy is June's Uncle.

This is a wonderful picture of my Mother and Daddy taken with June's camera. The house in the background is the house we moved into when I was a one-year-old baby. I lived there all of my life until I got married at age 18. My Mom, Hazel, and June's Mother, Pearl, were sisters.

Now, this is a picture of my Aunt Doris' two kids! Yes, it is Larry & Janet!! The funny thing about this picture is that at first Janet and I did not know who the kids were in the picture. She emailed me and said that the boy sure looked like her brother, Larry, and thought the girl might have been my little sister, Retha. I didn't think it was Retha, but wasn't sure. Anyway, I thought it was funny that Janet did not recognize her own picture!!

I have two more pictures to put on this blog, but all of a sudden blogger will not let me upload another picture. I even tried making a new blog page and it still will not let me upload any photos, so I will try later.

  • I really love the pictures, thanks so much. When I first saw the little boy and girl, I thought it was Billy Maxine and me. I would have been that age in 1947. But it does look like Larry too.
    Love you, Retha

  • Thanks Mary Ellen for your Blog and thanks June for the pictures, what great memories. I didn't realize I was once a skinny kid with lots of hair.
