65 Years Ago--August 28th!!
This is me "looking cute"! At least that is what they told me to do, and I would put on this "cute" face!!
I loved that old pump we used to have which was later replaced with a bucket we dropped down into the well. I drew many buckets of water out of that well when I was a kid.
They tried to make a cowgirl out of me, but I never quite fit the roll! I never was a tomboy either. I loved dolls and playing house--and just looks what it got me! Five kids and 13 grandchildren!! I love every minute of it!!!
Guess what? My hair is the same color now at it was back when I was a baby--white!! I've had white hair for over 20 years. I guess that is called going back to your childhood when one gets older!! That and trying to act like a kid again riding a Sea-Doo. (See my last blog.)
Well, I finally found out the difference between a Sea-Doo and a Jet Ski. A Sea-Doo is like a motorcycle without the wheels, and a Jet Ski is like a motorized water ski that you stand up on and ride.

The photos of you are so darling. I love each one HOWEVER......I cannot see the one of your face where you are sitting in the little chair and someone's hand is holding you in. You are covered up with the one of you holding the little doll. I tried to click on the one in the chair and it says error. WISH I COULD SEE IT.....
Hope you are having a wonderful day. I got an E-mail from Boyd and he said you were his. He had loaned you out but you really belonged to him. You were a birthday present to him. I NEVER KNEW THAT. HOW SWEET IS THAT??? Wish they had given you to ME!!! That was one neat present. If I had you, then maybe I would see you more often. I LOVE YOU SISSY. HAVE A WONDERFUL AND HAPPY 65TH BIRTHDAY. KISSES & HUGS TO YOU TODAY AND ALWAYS.
Our LOVE, Janet & Gary

My brother, Boyd, sent this email to me this morning. "Mary Ellen came home from the hospital on September 3, 1941, my 8th birthday. Daddy & Mama gave her to me for a birthday present so she is mine. We lived on So. Penn at the time, next to the river. Well yeah, Ken has her but she is really mine, I just loaned her out." This is the truth. Boyd has always taken care of me! I have three terrific brothers who have always taken care of me, actually, along with my four wonderful sisters. Ken has helped them out for 21 years. Isn't it something that it has taken so many people to take care of me!?! I must be high maintenance!!

My sister, Betty, sent me and the rest of our siblings this email: "I found our beautiful little sister on her blog. I remember everyone of those pictures. Everyone check out her blog and Janet's also. They both feature #8 of our clan. Boyd we all did a good job of taking care of your birthday present and spoiling her. Even daddy would never tell her no. Those pictures are almost 65 years old also. My favorite is the one of you with the bucket and the pump. Betty"
Now, I sure didn't know I was spoiled!! But maybe I am a little!!! I have such a wonderful family. Thanks, Betty
