Arizona & New Mexico Vacation April 2005

I downloaded Picasa and it sorted my pictures by year. I saw pictures on my computer that I had filed away and had not seen in a long time. I downloaded a few of them through Picasa. They have a "blog-it" button that puts four pictures at a time on my blog, so I copied and pasted four blog uploads until I got them all on one. Now I won't have any trouble getting pictures on my blog, hopefully!
Anyway, I found these gorgeous pictures I took of our vacation to Arizona and New Mexico last year. Ken & I went to visit his only sibling, Rena, and her husband, Bill. I took my digital camera and captured these photos.

Early morning sunrise view from Bill & Rena's back yard.

A later view of the same sunrise.

I forgot which Mountains these were, but they were in Arizona.

I believe this is the view from Rena's front porch.

A closer view of the same scene from Rena's front porch.

I think this U.S. Post Office is in Rodeo, NM. I loved the big tree growing right in front of the door.

Bill & Rena's house in Arizona. This is the back of the house with the pond. The porch goes completely around the house. They also rent it for a bed and breakfast. It is really beautiful! It was so peaceful there. I loved to sit out on the porch. April is a good time of year to go to Arizona.

Flowers blooming by Rena's pond.

This big tree was in a really old cemetery we visited.

This is Rena, Ken's sister, under that same big old tree.

Ken & Rena in front of a museum we visited near the Mexico border.

This is a picture of the museum.
We had a terrific time on this trip and wish we could do it again when it is cooler. Thanks Bill & Rena for a wonderful vacation!

Unusual Clouds

I was driving down the highway about 5:00 p.m. tonight and saw this unusual cloud dropping all the way to the ground. I knew it was rain, but wondered if it might be harboring a tornado. Lightning was shooting through it from the top to the bottom. I didn't get a picture of the lightning, but wish I could have. It appeared to be about a mile wide. It was really unique. The evening news did not say anything about tornados, so I guess it was a very heavy downpour of much needed rain.
See the bird in flight just to the left in this picture.

The clouds pictured below were taken at the same time and just to the north. The sky was really beautiful. I love taking pictures of clouds.

In the center of the picture above, a formation that looked like a profile of a face began to emerge. It was really neat! See it just to the right of the blue spot. I admit I have an imagination!!

Just before I took these photos, I drove through a huge downpour of rain. I could hardly see the road to drive. When I got over the top of the mountain, I drove out of the rain. The highway was wet, so I just came through the middle of the storm. When I got home, our ground was wet. Praise God!! It has been so dry here with temperatures of over 100 degrees almost all summer. The grass is brown and the ground had been so dry. Thank God for the wonderful rain.
