Taps Sound for Chaplain Col. Boyd Fallwell
This blog is dedicated to an awesome man who gave selflessly for 15 years of his life serving the families of departed American Veterans by conducting military honors for 1,327 men and woman who served this great country to preserve our freedom.
Gone the sun
From the Lakes
From the hills
From the sky.
All is well
Safely rest
God is nigh.
Fading light
Dims the sight
And a star
Gleaming bright.
From afar
drawing nigh.
Falls the night.
Thanks and praise
For our days
Neath the sun
Neath the stars
As we go.
This we know,
God is nigh.
Falls the night.
On February 5, 2007, at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma, taps sounded for Chaplain Colonel Boyd E. Fallwell. He passed from this earth on January 31, 2007, to his heavenly reward with his Supreme Commander - our Father God. Boyd loved the Lord Jesus, his family, the United States of America, and "old glory" - the flag of this great Nation! He served his country well and I know he heard these words when he came face to face with God, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant!"
Final honors and salutes were given to this wonderful man just as he gave to so many other departed veterans hundreds of times.
Thanks so very much to all of you who have written wonderful words about my dear precious brother, Boyd. A special guest book is set up for him by the Oklahoman newspaper. You may view it at this website: http://www.legacy.com/Link.asp?I=GB000086282386

A very special "thank you" to my nephew, Michael, Teri's son and Jimmy's grandson, who captured these awesome photos at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery during the service honoring Chaplain Col. Boyd E. Fallwell.
